Job description

About the Role

We’re seeking a proactive, results-driven Business Development Manager / Account Manager (BDM/AM) to lead growth in the Defence market across Belgium. You’ll drive new business, deepen strategic accounts, and position our clients software solutions as the go-to choice for organisations seeking to modernise operations, accelerate decision-making, and improve mission outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the market: Build and develop the Defence portfolio in Belgium; identify white space, craft account plans, and deliver revenue growth.
  • Be the point of contact: Serve as the trusted advisor for key Defence bodies; nurture long-term, senior-level relationships.
  • Shape the community: Organise briefings, workshops, and webinars to inform and inspire stakeholders; create a strong network of users and influencers.
  • Lead with insight: Track sector trends (policy, procurement, interoperability, security) and translate them into actionable roadmaps and compelling value propositions.
  • Guide opportunities end-to-end: Qualify needs, shape solutions with presales/partners, coordinate proposals and demos, and steer deals through to close.
  • Orchestrate delivery: Work with project teams to scope, prioritise, and support the successful implementation of customer projects.

Required experience

  • Master’s degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience within the Defence sector and enterprise IT/software solutions.
  • Track record in solution sales and/or implementations; public-sector procurement familiarity is a plus.
  • Strong interest in go-to-market and positioning; comfortable crafting narratives and enabling stakeholders.
  • Commercially sharp, customer-centric, and energised by improving operational processes.
  • Problem-solver with excellent communication, consultative, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical, hands-on, and a team player.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
  • Sufficient technical acumen to map customer needs to the right technological solutions (security, data management, integrations, UX, scalability, etc.).

Offer

  • A strategic role shaping software adoption within the Defence ecosystem and influencing high-impact decisions.
  • An international, growth-oriented environment with access to extensive training and professional development.
  • A supportive workplace culture focused on sustainable growth and customer success.
  • Attractive compensation package with extra-legal benefits (company car, meal vouchers, hospitalisation and group insurance) and hybrid work options.

If you’re ready to lead market development and build lasting partnerships in a mission-critical domain, we’d love to hear from you.
